I'm looking for calibration, not adjustment only. Thanks André -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

calibration///adjustment when you can see nearly equally the different shades at the top and bottom of the display, you are on target. or ?? what do you mean... brightness -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

No I think he does mean calibration, color calibration. If I right about that, go to a photo supply store that sells to professionals. Ask them what you need. Second thought is store for professional designers who use computers for their work. I think there are different systems for this, so find out which one your photo composing software wants. Also, ask any people you know who do this sort of work. If you need calibration software, it's likely to be pricey. Look at sites for open source software, and see what's there. But do first check the software you have to see if it does it. -- Bob Rea mailto:gapetard@stsams.org http://www.petard.us http://www.petard.us/blog http://www.petard.us/gallery Where is Bill Stringfellow now that we really need him? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

http://www.argyllcms.com/ is the place for this information. Though one can easily loose his way. http://hoech.net/dispcalGUI/ is more friendlier in working with Argyll CMS commands. http://www.oyranos.org/ which works with KDE can provide some info as well. But nevertheless, one needs the hardware for a proper color management, else one can be sorry when he sees the prints in the case of photos.
