I use SuSE Professional and trying to figure out what differences there is between the old Professional package, and the new SuSE 10. In the comparison chart on: http://www.novell.com/products/suselinux/comparative.html Novell describes some of the differences between what they call Enterprise and Enthusiast products. Here the info on SuSE 10 says the following: Security patches - Limited availability Software and driver updates - No Update protection - No Service-pack availability - No Anyone knows what this implies. Does SuSE 10 still give the same access to updats as SuSE Professional did (like SuSE Online-update and Fou4s updates) ?. /Bo

That was said for Professional as well. Limited = around 2 years, as opposed to Enterprise which is minimum 5 years. THAT is what is meant.

Hi and thanks for the ideas. I've tried three alternative YOU servers without success. Is there anything else I could try?

Hi Steve, Two things you can try: a) check the contents of YOU's local repository where it stores downloaded items (/var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/i386/update/9.x...) and delete the errant/corrupted rpm and try running YOU again. Maybe it's not smart enough to download the file again even though it later finds the local copy is corrupted. b) navigate via Konqueror browser to the mirror, through the update branch, locate the update rpm and click on it. You should then be able to click the "Install with YaST" button from within Konqueror. regards, - Carl

That's great, Steve. Glad to hear it. Now, if I could just get YaST2/Apache2 straightened out at this end, we'd /both/ be happy campers! regards, - Carl
