Hey, Syeh! You might try PICO - it's not exactly like the DOS 'EDIT' but it is close enough to the point where you can learn it in all of 45 seconds. PICO is part of one of the std packages I think, like aaa_base or wherever the binutils live, but I'm not certain...if you have it, it probably lives at /usr/bin/pico, and you can find it with which... hope this helps, -cr- -----Original Message----- From: Syeh Abidin To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Sent: 06/12/2000 4:13 AM Subject: [SLE] Editor like EDIT in DOS Hello suse-linux-e, I want to know editor in Text Mode (not X) like EDIT With Menu inside, Easy to use, .. Hello Clinton, PICO.., Great things. Thank's. I have tried other like jed, to much trouble inside. But I have one more problem, When I use Eterm (Enlightened Terminal) and use del (key) it's act like backspace. So I'm confuse to edit when del key is gone..!! But it's normal in kvt (terminal in KDE). Oh yeah one more, When I ask about Editing HTML in Netscape. It's can't work because I take that file in FAT32 drive. So Netscape can't know it well, So I move that file, and work well, Great things. I like Netscape.. Tuesday, June 13, 2000, 8:27:37 AM, you wrote: CR> Hey, Syeh! Nano's better, but not on the CD's. Nano is a pico clone, except that it has a few features that pico never implemented, such as direct access to a line and search/replace. If you're brave, and for some reason don't want to use pico because of the license, have a look at http://www.asty.org/nano/. Nano's what I used to build my latest web page (http://members.linuxstart.com/~UberPenguin/ ;).

You need to do some reading in man Xdefaults. -- -=|JP|=- "Why, oh, why didn't I take the blue pill?"
