Apache name-based virtual hosting problem
Hallo. I got a problem with my name-based virtual hosting. I have run the apache2ctl -S, but the syntax-test return OK (see below). If I try to connect through my ip-address(http://195.204.179.8). I see/reach the default serverroot-page. That's correct. But when I try dev.novita.no I got "Unable to connect to remote host." The dev.novita.no points to 195.204.179.8 I can't find any http-request inside the logs too. Can someone see where my problem is?
From my configuration files: Listen 80 NameVirtualHost *:80

I think you only miss the following directive in your httpd.conf NameVirtualHost 195.204.179.8:80 Regards, Gaël PS: by the way, try the ping, it could be a problem of DNS cache

Many thanks. It now works. I had also a problem with the DNS cache as you said. Cheers Andreas H
