Hello all! I need to track dhcp leases somehow.. I get all dhcp notes in my /var/log/messages which i s kinda unconvenient. Is there a way to move them out of there? Is there a utility to keep treck of the leases? I assume you're running dhcp-server All leases are recorded in plain text in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases

All leases are recorded in plain text in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases
You can also view them using webmin (graphical). Ken

What goes on each log file is configured in /etc/syslog.conf (see man syslog.conf for more info). You only need to know which syslog facility is dhcp using. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
