[opensuse] Super Tux / Community Repositories
I installed 11.1 on my son's laptop yesterday. I noticed that Super Tux is no longer on the lists - I've added packman. Also, what happened to the Community Repositories icon? I seem to have to back to the manual way of adding these. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Community repositories is not available as a separated module since 11.0. You can add those repositories through Software Repositories -> Add -> Community Repositories. -- Kind Regards -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That blows. Why was it removed? Any good reason? As for the second question - any ideas as to where Super Tux went? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not removed. Just moved. I guess they felt the original location was too prominent. Why would you look outside the group for it?

I do not have 11.1 installed yet, ??? -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
If you look directly at the SuperTux Website, there is a Download Section
that links to the SuperTux Wiki.
http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Download/Stable#SuSE_Linux
It says:
SuSE Linux
This distribution includes a supertux package. Use yast to install it:
yast2 -i supertux
I believe that will work. Or you can use the Generic Linux Installer with
AutoPackage...
I believe also that you want the Stable Package, right?
Hope this helps!

I had tried both. I got "rpm invalid" or something like that. I'll download the opensuse version once I kick rugrat the younger off of starfall.com... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You are just asking for problems running foreign apps/rpm when openSUSE versions designed and tested for openSUSE system installs are available. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
No, no, that is from the official repository.
The commands for all of the different linux distros on the Super Tux
Wiki are all for each distro, ex. Opensuse uses the yast2 command...
Besides, that file is then downloaded from the OpenSUSE Repos...

I got it installed. Now, rugrat the elder is complaining about it being "different" than the older version on my laptop and my mom's system. Wouldn't you know!

We'll yes, there is'n an old version and a new version.. (I didn't follow the whole therad sorry) The old version had "Lives" (similar to Super Mario) and a fixed level layout (one after another). The new version uses "money" (if you die you lose money), also you can go different ways/levels to reach the end of the map, which makes it a bit simpler imho (you can reach the fortrest quite fast). If you want I can research when that change happend ;) Regards Michael

yeah, but the old one was better :D Seem it was changed in r3256, April 2006: "No lives, no gameover, no worries" Regards Michael
If you want, you could build your own Older Version, if you know how...
Or, if someone wishes to contribute a older version, then go ahead...

In YaST's Software section, select Software Repositories. Click "Add",
then at the top of the selections, choose "Community Repositories".
Many of the different software modules that did a lot of the same stuff
were merged together to help ease the clutter of YaST.
