Sweet, I've finally got SuSe 10 up and running. I'm a rather inexperienced Linux user, so please, bear with me here.
NP. We can all be inexperienced together...
domain and IP address, but I can't find where to specify the address of a DNS server. Help...please?
Simple. Get into the network setup in YaST. (Is that name going to chagne to YAST, soon?) Assuming you don't have DHCP to auto-detect your network settings, then you will have the "Static Address Setup" radio button selected and your IP/Subnet Mask filled out. Right below will be a panel with the name, "Detailed Settings." The button "Host Name and Server" is what you want. Click on it. The second panel down will have your Name Servers (DNS) entries. Your ISP has probably given you a name server IP address. Fill that in under the Name Server 1 and (optionally) Name Server 2 fields. If, OTOH, you have DHCP, then you should call your ISP to see what's going on. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
