SuSE Linux Kernel 2.4.16 and Reiserfs
Hi all, A couple of days ago i attempted to upgrade to kernel 2.4.16 for SuSE Linux 7.1 using the provided rpm's. I used Pentium optimized version and after rpm -Uvh i run mk_initrd as recommend and get reiserfs no such modules. So took a look at /lib/modules and support other fs are present including ext3 but reiserfs. But if get development kernel reiserfs support is and my old 2.4.7 kernel as as support for it wonder what i am doing wrong. Regards, Alex :)
You probably forgot to get the seperate ReiserFS rpm out of the same directory..check to see if you've done this. :) * lm72 (suse@linuxnews.dyndns.org) [020216 13:58]: ->Hi all, -> ->A couple of days ago i attempted to upgrade to kernel 2.4.16 for SuSE ->Linux 7.1 using the provided rpm's. ->I used Pentium optimized version and after rpm -Uvh i run mk_initrd as ->recommend ->and get reiserfs no such modules. ->So took a look at /lib/modules and support other fs are present ->including ext3 but reiserfs. -> ->But if get development kernel reiserfs support is and my old 2.4.7 ->kernel as as support for it wonder what i am doing wrong. -> -> ->Regards, -> ->Alex :) -> ->-- ->To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com ->For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com ->Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the ->archives at http://lists.suse.com -> -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "I've never been quarantined. Bit me too. I previously sent email to SuSE about that problem,
and posted it on one of the SuSE news groups.
