Someone said there was a crontab in KDE, but I seem unable to find it --cron or kcron-- since they are unlisted in Control Center's index. Where do I find a crontab for KDE? I just did a search on KDE's site and came up dry. Google has one called vcron but I prefer something in KDE, if possible. Thanks... ...CH

KDE does not have any built in cron facilities, however it does have a couple of frontends to edit crontabs. Kcron is part of kdeadmin3. Charles -- "It's God. No, not Richard Stallman, or Linus Torvalds, but God." (By Matt Welsh)

I found it. Thanks. There are so many packages... ...CH
Actually I should elaborate. There are a couple of ways to schedule programs to execute within KDE such as kalarm and I believe, korganizer. However none of the jobs will run unless you are logged into KDE as that user. Charles -- "Whip me. Beat me. Make me maintain AIX." (By Stephan Zielinski)

Use yast to install 'KDE System Administration' (kdeadmin3) and it includes a suite of tools includeing KCron. Then start it through System->Service Configuration. --Andrew
