I'm using Suse 8.1 and Mozilla 1.0.1. There are several radio station web sites I visit that broadcast over the web that require Windows Medai Player to listen. Searching with Google I came across MPlayer for Linux. Has anyone used MPlayer? Can it be used for web streaming audio? Any other suggestions on listing to Windows Media streaming audio on the web using Linux? Thanks, Matt

You might use kradio:

http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/#Download
If you have Crossover Office 3.0 you can install Windows Media Player
from there, as well as a lot of other plugins.

I use SuSE 9.0 and ULB-Mozilla 1.6 (www.usr-local-bin.org/mozilla.php) and listen to streaming radio with what seems to be a kind of plug-in based on Xine: http://www.lhs.se/%7Elarsno/Radio.jpg It works great. /Lars Matt Stamm wrote:

Can you share more specifically how you implemented this plugin, please? I have had some limited success accessing streaming audio, but it is spotty. VideoLAN Media Player handles certain sites but many do not work for me. For example, can you handle all of the links here successfully? http://www.hughhewitt.com/pages/listen_online.htm Thanks! doc Lars Norén wrote:
