Subject: kde2/XFree86 4.01 problems
Hi all,
I'm running SuSE 6.4 with SuSE's 2.2.16 kernel. I installed KDE2 a
while back, and it was starting fine from runlevel 2 with 'WINDOWMANAGER=kde2
startx -- -nolisten tcp'. A couple of days ago I installed XFree86
4.01. Now, if I try to run kde2, I get the message
'/usr/X11R6/bin/startx: xinit: command not found'. Can anyone tell me
what needs doing? KDE1.1.2 starts up as the default without trouble.
Second problem:
X is listening on port 6000 again, although the configuration files
are the same as before, when I managed to disable it. How can I stop
it? This is a relatively basic security measure, but as before I see
it is not trivial to find documentation on it. Shouldn't SuSE set this
default to nolisten?
Thanks,
Corvin
