Ben, With KDE you do NOT need imwheel, in fact, I think it hinders the wheel performance... as for the configuration, the other posting have it right. Hope it helps, Alvaro Novo

Is that the case even for non-KDE apps? I think I saw a post here suggesting that the KDE wheelmouse support only applied to KDE apps. And are there any relevant configuration settings in KDE itself (rather than XF86Config) if imwheel isn't active? Paul

There are things that still need imwheel. The acroread plugin for netscape for instance. -- Mark Hounschell dmarkh@cfl.rr.com

And Emacs. Paul

Actually, it's Netscape itself that would need imwheel. Konq uses the Acrobat plugin for Netscape an it works fine without imwheel. So it would be the browser..not Adobe that needs it. I will be so glad when Netscape 4.X goes by the wayside. :) Just an FYI. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

Well if I don't run imwheel the kde2 wheel support makes the wheel work in netscape(Jump Scroll only). But if I look at a pdf file with the browser without imwheel running the wheel does nothing while the plugin is running. Only if I start imwheel will the wheel work while viewing a pdf using the acroread plugin. Just another FYI. Regards Mark
