It looks like it's trying to connect to a running session that's not actually running. Try looking at the session list with nxserver --list and terminating them. -- James Oakley jfunk@funktronics.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

nxserver --list is showing nothing. ie. it runs and shows column titles, but no sessions. Greg -- Greg Freemyer The Norcross Group Forensics for the 21st Century -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Nothing at all. OTOH, I'm accumulating sessions in /var/lib/nxserver/db/failed A sample failed session file contains: sessionName=Forensic1000 display=1001 status=Failed startTime=1165939355 foreignAddress=10.0.1.118 sessionRootlessMode=0 type=unix-kde sessionId=B5FAB4D01449D8A4CC6E9AAD4C67358F creationTime=1165939355 userName=gaf serverPid= screeninfo=1152x834x16+render geometry=1152x834 host=127.0.0.1 Nothing obviously wrong there. (10.0.1.118 is my FreeNX client) 1152x834 is the resolution of my windows box running the FreeNX client Greg -- Greg Freemyer The Norcross Group Forensics for the 21st Century -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hmmm. Do you have another 10.2 box you can run nxserver on? I have two 10.2 boxes that I log into via NX daily. If you can get it working on another box you can compare the configurations to see what's different. -- James Oakley jfunk@funktronics.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

James, I guess you missed my msg about getting it working by updating the FreeNX client to 2.1.0.6, but thanks for the help. Or download the free commercial NX client from www.nomachine.com I'm using this, it works a treat.
