[opensuse] Cannot mount NFS as user under 10.3
Hi, I've just installed 10.3 and am trying to enable mounting NFS volumes for standard user accounts. Under 10.2 this worked by adding the "users" flag to '/etc/fstab' for the respective volume. Now in 10.3 I am only getting an error "mount: 192.168.1.1:/Share failed, reason given by server: Permission denied". Mounting as root works fine as does mounting as a user from a 10.2 machine, so it doesn't seem like a problem on the server. How can I solve this? Thanks, -- Markus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Last time I came across something like this was after a version upgrade was when the numeric UID and GID assignments changed after the upgrade (which was a long time ago). I would check the server and workstation UID and GID and make certain they match.. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone. Both IDs (1500, 100) are identical to those on the 10.2 machine and group assignments are the same, too. -- Markus PGP Key: http://graph-ix.net/keys/kde.asc -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Hi again, does no one have any ideas? I have checked the user/group IDs which are unchanged from the 10.2 installation. Why doesn't this work under 10.3? Is there a way to get more information on the client side than just the "permission denied"? On Wednesday 03 October 2007 09:39:46 Markus wrote:
