In reading the man page, I don't see how I can set xinetd to write it's debug output to a file. Both -filelog and -syslog, in the man page, are said to be useless. Is there another way to write debug output to a file? Thanks -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

xinetd -d | tee /path/to/logfile perhaps? Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
nope, it still writes to the screen. It did create the logfile, but it's 0 length -----Original Message----- From: Anders Johansson [mailto:ajh@rydsbo.net] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2008 3:15 PM To: opensuse@opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse] Xinetd -d writing to a file? OK, so it writes to standard error. In that case xinetd -d &> /path/to/logfile will put it in the log file. Forget about tee if you don't want it on screen at all Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
thanks but neither that nor -d > /var/log/dump/xinetd.log 2>&1 do anything -----Original Message----- From: Anders Johansson [mailto:ajh@rydsbo.net] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2008 4:00 PM To: opensuse@opensuse.org Subject: RE: [opensuse] Xinetd -d writing to a file?
