On a machine running SuSE 8.2 kghostview won't open any pdf files. Acrobat will open them alright, but kghostview says "Could not open file /HOME/staff/nmayotte/public_html/test/reci.pdf." But the program itself loads, it just doesn't open anything. I tried with a ps file too, there all it did was load a blank page, with no error. On a side note, when I type "kghostview" at the console, it loads but prints these messages to the terminal : libGL error: failed to open DRM: Operation not permitted libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering And after the program is loaded it prints : kio (KDirWatch): WARNING: KDirWatch::removeDir can't handle '/HOME/staff/nmayotte/public_html/test/reci.pdf' Suggestions anyone?

Also, hyperlinks in pdf documents don't work in it. - Ram.

Run fonts-config manually. You need to generate a Ghostscript fontmap. The command in SuSEconfig skips that part by default. You might also need to manually tweak the fontmap files.
Also, hyperlinks in pdf documents don't work in it.
Of course it doesn't KGhostview is not really a pdf viewer. It uses Ghostscript to convert the pdf to ps for display. For links to work either use Acroread or Xpdf. Make sure you have installed Ghostscript and have setup the program properly in KGhostview's preferences. Charles -- "Whip me. Beat me. Make me maintain AIX." (By Stephan Zielinski)
