belkin PCI WNIC in desktop box with 9.0 Pro
Hi, all -- I have a new e-Machines desktop and a Belkin 802.11b wireless NIC that doesn't appear to be recognized. I've just gone through the 9.0 setup and passed the network config on the way to creating users, and my 'wireless settings' button is greyed out. Has anyone any experience with such a beast and could point me to how to light up this card? If SuSE9 doesn't have the driver, you may have to use driverloader. www.linuxant.com is the source. -- ...CH SuSE Is All U Need Linux user# 313696 Linux box# 199365

Now, um, to % get it onto the box ;-) I pulled it down but it was a miserable failure; I could never get the MAC address and it didn't like the .inf I tried to upload anyway. At first I thought "Hey, this is cool stuff. I gotta send them a donation to say thanks!", but then I saw that it was pay-ware anyway. Unfortunately, their documentation is pretty slim, and they don't handle problems like I had very gracefully. Urgh. Ah, well. Returning this Belkin card and adding the $20 I would have spent on them will get me a basic Belkin router, which I can turn into a dumb switch and have better results for my current route, and get a free minihub built in, AND not have to mess with drivers or anything else. Works for me. Thanks anyway & HAND :-D -- David T-G * There is too much animal courage in (play) davidtg@justpickone.org * society and not sufficient moral courage.
