Hi there, Check the ownership of the mysql files in ../data/mysql. Are you logged on as that user? If you are try starting the daemon as bin/safe_mysqld --user=root & Note that the "root" user here is the mysql user created when you ran mysql_install_db. Take a look and see if there is something that could fix your problem. I think it has issues which is why there are updates.
