The Mac-type questions around have led me to ask an interesting question: Is there planning to be a release of SuSE 8.1 (or lower, higher) for PPC? Thanks Donavan Pantke

Not sure, but if you can get hands on the Enterprise Server (SLES8 for PPC) which is based on UnitedLinux, it will run on most Powermacs too. Your mileage on the very newest ones may vary, thougth. Peter

Ahh, I have a habit of supporting monetarily the companies that give me good products, but the $700+ dollars that is charged for SLES is fine for my company, but for my personal laptop that is a little expoensive. lol I hope that a good consumer version of SuSE for PPC, with KDE3 and all the good stuff, finds it's way onto my laptop. Conversly, money will find it's way itno SuSE's pockets. lol Donavan Pantke

SuSE's policy last time I heard was a new version every other number for non-x86. So I would think since there is a 7.3 PPC that there will be an 8.1, but they come out about 6-8 weeks after the x86 version. So for PPC boxes it pretty much should look like this... 7.3 8.1 8.3 9.1 Or something like the above. :) Cheers! -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe..
