Sid, Thanks for the "back-up script"; namely:

####rsync -avz --rsh=ssh <local directory> rsync -avubpoDrz --exclude=/proc --rsh=ssh $1 $2

but on a personal note I would have preferred it not sent as an attachment "RYSNC"< but rather included in the body of the email. (I hate opening attachments -- once burned twice shy !!!)

Also it is my understanding that all attachments are eliminated in the SuSE Archieves, eg http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2003-Nov/
