cdrom can't be mounted except by root
What are the correct permissions, owner and group for my cdrom drive? It is now root:root and I can't access it as a user. Or point me to someplace where I can find out a little more. -- Bob Rea mailto:gapetard@stsams.org http://www.petard.us Time is the best teacher. Unfortunately it kills all its students.

the information is taken from the /etc/fstab when it is mounted, you should have an entry something like:- /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660,udfs unhide, noauto, users, kudzu,ro 0 0 details of the meanings are in man fstab or man mount. Laurence
