Hi, I have been using apt-get with Suse 9.1 for a few months and it is working great when I use it without any proxies. However, when I am at work and have to use it through proxies, it doesn't work even after I specified the http and ftp proxy in /etc/apt/apt.conf using Acquire { ... }. apt-get says [Logging in] and then it is stuck there. FTP to the same site through firefox (with the same proxies) works perfectly. -- Osho

Try http://ftp.gwdg.de/.... instead of ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/.... Cheers, Leen

it often helps to set the no_proxy environment variable e.g: no_proxy=gwdg.de -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
