I would like to configure xterm to set the title to <user>:<machine>:<xterm cnt>. and I would like this to show up in the text when I minimize it, I am using fvwm2 as a window manager. Can someone help me out on how to configure xterm? Use the -n for the icon string : $ xterm -n "${USER}:`hostname`" If <xterm cnt> reffers to the command count you see in your prompt, I don't know how you get it out of the prompt string. See the man pages for xterm for more options. Try export PROMPT_COMMAND="echo -ne \"\033]0;$(whoami):$(hostname):xterm \$HISTCMD\007\"" Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
