Has anyone gotten 1.2.1 to work on a 7.3 box? I've tried the rpms at ftp.suse.com projects/mozilla. Both the 1.2 rpms and now the 1.2.1. I also recompiled from the srpm there. In all cases, 1.2 and 1.2.1's navigator will not even so much as open a window. Moving ~/.mozilla out of the way does not help. 1.1 works fine; only 1.2+ has problems. I'm trying a compile of cvs now. Perhaps the problem is specific to the rpms.... Anyone else seeing this? -JimC

Mozilla work on my computer with the regular rpm package from SuSE and I have 7.3 Pro distro. I was unable to run mozilla too the first time I installed it. First thing I tried was to remove the files related to mozilla in my /home directory but that didn't help. Finally mozilla has start to work after I have erased everything in the /tmp directory. I think that somebody else on the list mentionned that you have to remove mozilla 1.0 or 1.1 before you start the installation of mozilla 1.2.x. Hope this can help you. Bye claude

Yes. Install it according to http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/mozilla.html and also install the Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Linux. See two weeks old archives for more info. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se

Hi. On the above mentioned site there stands, that one has to run SuSEconfig --module mozilla. I cannot due it: eurit:~ # SuSEconfig --module mozilla Starting SuSEconfig, the SuSE Configuration Tool... Running module mozilla only Reading /etc/sysconfig and updating the system... Module mozilla does not exist Finished. Where can the mozilla module be found ?. Also there stands "installation with Yast". To me it seems not possible to install files using Yast, but I might be wrong ?. I install with MC.

Alexandr> Yes. Alexandr> Install it according to http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/mozilla.html I've got it working now, with my compile of suse's srpm + --enable-xft --enable-svg. Removing /opt/mozilla after an rpm -qa|egrep mozilla|xargs rpm -e made the difference. Something left behind there was causing the problem. Thanks to all who replied. -JimC
