Is there any way to recover old crontabs from a previous installation that I have fully backed up? I can't find the relevant files, and it would be easier copying an old file across than trying to recreate all the entries! Specifically, I'd like root's crontab back. The system crontab is /etc/crontab If you mean the user specific tabs, they are in /var/spool/cron/tabs/ named after each user, so root's user specific tab would be /var/spool/cron/tabs/root
In a previous message, Anders Johansson
the user specific tabs [snip] are in /var/spool/cron/tabs/
That's the ones - thanks! John -- John Pettigrew Headstrong Games john@headstrong-games.co.uk Fun : Strategy : Price http://www.headstrong-games.co.uk/ Board games that won't break the bank
