I have SuSe 7.2 installed on my Pentium II. Working on my irq's and ioports I came on a ioport resource conflict when I typed isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf the following output showed. Board 1 has Identity 21 05 00 00 00 18 30 21 59: VIA3018 Serial No 83886080 [checksum 21] Board 2 has Identity 0c 90 2f c0 ba 01 22 8b 11: DLK2201 Serial No 2419048634 [checksum 0c] /etc/isapnp.conf:45 Fatal-resource conflict allocating 2 bytes IO at 3E0 (see /proc/ioports) /etc/isapnp.conf:45 Fatal-IO range check attempted while device activated /etc/isapnp.conf:45 Fatal-Error occured executing request <IORESCHECK> further actio aborted I hope that this means that something is not okay on the address 03e0. On 03c0 - 03df it has vesafb (?) and on address 03e0-03e1 an i82365 is found. Because I needed to free up some place for a USB cable and connector I changed two PCI cards (on slot 1 and 2) and after making a new isapnp.conf I get a slitghly different message. The information that the 2 bytes IO at 3eo conflict does not show anymore. All other lines are still there and just the same. What does this info really say in plain english and what can be done to solve it. Where could I find the meaning of the abreviations used like rtc, vesafb and i82365?
