Yep. Download the 5 CDs, loop-mount them etc., then boot from CD1, then on the screen use F3 and F4 to select an NFS install. /Per Jessen, Zürich -- http://www.spamchek.com/ - managed anti-spam and anti-virus solution. Sign up for your free 30-day trial now!

But will this work with a downloaded DVD iso? I've had no success with the Eval .iso image at all. Always worked before from copying the relevant directories of a ftp server onto a local networked drive. Getting nowhere loop mounting the DVD iso. Is it simply unworkable for loop mounting? Otherwise I'm going to have to download the whole 5x CDs' :-( A slow and painful process.

Download the first cd and use that to do your ftp install. Use ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-stable/inst-source/ as the install source. This way you only download what you need and save a little on bandwidth. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Yeah, I used to use the FTP version too. I'm not sure why the opensuse project does not provide a plain ftp version as well as DVD and CD versions.

I don't know to be honest - I would thought it shouldn't make much of a difference, DVD or CD. /Per Jessen, Zürich
