Does anyone know what the format is for /etc/gettytab which is used with the in.telnetd server? I'd like to customize the login program for use with the telnet server. I used to be able to use the '-L' argument and specify the login program, but SuSE 7.3 must use a different version which requires me to use the '-g' argument with the entry from gettytab (or gettyent). There doesn't seem to be a prewritten gettytab or template for it, and I'm having trouble finding a useable one on the web. Maybe I don't have something installed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, --Jeff

Assuming the source in telnet.src.rpm is correct, the gettytab stuff isn't implemented. -g is accepted as an option, but as far as I can see, /etc/gettytab is never actually opened. -L is still used, even though the man page doesn't mention it. This is assuming the source on the CD is correct, of course. //Anders

Hm, slight mistake here. -L is handled in the code, but ignored by the options parser. It looks like the conversion to the new stuff is only half completed
