Hi Terry,
From: Terry Milnes [mailto:neofax@comcast.net]
[snip]
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)'
However, I can login to MySQL as root using 'mysql --user=root -p'. Or, as stated earlier I can login using Knoda. Does this help?
This is the normal behaviour of MySQL. If you don't use the password-switch -p with a password set for the user you will not be authenticated. Knoda surely has the password stored for you. So you can try "mysqladmin -u root -p" and you will be prompted for the password. cheers, Stefan
