SuSE 9.0 SuSEplugger && floppy icon
I noticed that SuSEPlugger does not create a floppyt icon on my KDE desktop. The box "Device icons - Floppy" is checked. Where can be the problem? Alex

Do you have a floppy drive in your computer? (Sorry - I couln't resist ;o)) Seriously though, check that the cables to your floppy drive are all firmly plugged in. In fact, it may be a good idea to unplug them and plug them in again. It sounds weird, but a few people have solved device problems that way in the past. Best regards :o) Johnny :o)
Dear all, I figured out today that the SuSEplugger in 9.0 slows down all processes. Especially when I want to start up applications. But also while using applications. The hard disc spins very slowly. When I turn it off I have an huge increase of speed. I guess that solves for a lot of people the slow down of kde in 9.0. Is there a bug or can SuSEplugger be configured in a different way? Cheers, Ulrich
well -- sometimes to "hangs" and in that condition it starts to utilize all 100% of CPU power. just kill it and restart. On Thursday 20 November 2003 18:41, Ulrich Leopold wrote:

:-) Yes, I do have a floppy (checked a few minutes ago). It's connected and working properly. :-) The user is member of "floppy" group. Still, the icon is not generated automatically. Moreover, I can't understand why yast recognises my CDRW drive (working through ide-scsi) as two identical drives => 2 icons for CDRW - CD-R & CD-R2.
