RE: [SLE] Linux Blue Screen of Death
Hi, KMail should not behave like that in the new versions, this seems like a typical low memory problem. Have you tried to close down all other applications before downloading? Or you may have a buggy KMail? When lockup, have you tried CTRL-ALT-F1 or CTRL-ALT-F2 to get a terminal session where you can run: ps -aux|more See if Kmail on the list. Then kill -9 Kmail Alt-F7 to get back into KDE. And try again? Kind Regards, Jostein Berntsen
===== Original Message From kinpoonc@singnet.com.sg ===== Greetings,
I wonder if anyone experienced this.
I'm using SuSE 7.1 and Kmail to download emails from my ISP. If I have approx 300 or more emails Kmail will crash out after downloading all the emails. What is left is the Linux blue screen of death! I've to press CTRL+ALT+Backspace keys to get back to the KDE login screen.
The happens with RedHat 7.2 and Mandrake 8.0 too.
Any help here is greatly appreciated. Tks in adv.
