Upgrading k3b over the last several weeks has taken me from: running great, no issues -> can't burn as user any more (stops burning about 50% done consistently -> can't even see CD drives as user. I'm sure a lot of this is due to permissions that have been automagically changed during upgrades with apt. k3b used to have a nice setup program, but I can't seem to find it any longer. Perhaps it went away when scsi-emulation was no longer required. Anyone...? k3bsetup...? I'm currently running SUSE 9.1 (kernel version in sig) with k3b 0.11.14 and kde 3.3. I'm not sure, but that could be due to a bug in the kernel, please see http://kerneltrap.org/node/view/3659 for more info. Cheers, Leen

Yes, I had noticed this, and it probably explains the issue I had earlier with having burns fail about halfway through as a normal user and as root. But, now the CD-RW is only seen as a writer when burning as root and not as a normal user. -- Cheers, Trey Reisner's Rule of Conceptual Inertia: If you think big enough, you'll never have to do it. Hum, did you already have a look on k3b's home page? I think it's really worth... http://k3b.sf.net/ Note the right side, 'Latest news'... ;) Cheers, Leen

Ahhh...that would explain the recent issue. I'll remember to check here first next time.
