Hello, I have installed SuSE 9.0 with NFS server. This PC connected to the Internet through dial-up PC as gateway. If the dial-up PC did not connect to the Internet, and when I turn on my PC. My PC will stop at "Starting kernel based NFS Server" for 3 to 5 minutes. I'm not sure why this happened. But if the dial-up PC connected to the internet, my PC boot-up properly. Can someone tell me how to aviod this problem, and make it faster to initialize on startup. Sounds like a DNS issue... a host name isn't getting resolved and is being blocked until timeout. What's in your /etc/fstab, /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/hosts? Does your machine also use NIS? -Ti -- Ti Kan http://www.amb.org/ti Vorsprung durch Technik
