XFree4 puts its config file in /etc/X11/XF86Config. Perhaps you could make a symlink to this ln -s /etc/X11/XF86Config /etc/XF86Config (don't know -- haven't tried this!) -- Never trust a man in a suit -- cll -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Is this the default for XFree4, or is this the way SuSE set it up with the SuSE rpm's? I would have thought they would have set it up for /etc rather then /etc/X11
I didn't know why but I deleted XF86Config in /etc :(( and I didn't had problem because XFree4 put in /etc/X11. Now I found old XF86Config and put it back in /etc and problem with SuSEconfig disappear. No, XFree86 4.0 configuration files will be located in /etx/X11. I have just filed a bug report, this will be fixed for the next release. As a workaround, fix the path to XF86Config on line 688 in /sbin/suseconfig to reflect the correct location. This is normal on newly installed systems, or upgrades that happen to replace the XF86Config file that used to reside within /etc .
