Hello SuSE folk, Used to have kcron back in 7.3, 8.0 ?? It dissapeared somewhere along the upgrades of KDE. Now running KDE 3.2.2 on 8.2 Use apt-get to keep my packages right up to date. Where have they put it??? Thought it might be kdeadmin3-kcron but apt says there isn't any such package. OH, I also lost kpackage along the way, Would like to have that back also. Bob S.

kcron is in my 8.1, 8.2 and the new 9.1. Its part of the KDE suite, but I'm not sure of the exact package which included it, but google says its in kdeadmin3. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen

OK, that is what I found also. Darned if i can find it though. Richard, you must know where it is !! C Hamel, thanks for your reply. If I cannot come up with kcron I will give vcron a shot. Bob S. PS Anybody tell me how I can come up with kpackage also?? KDE is getting pretty good at hiding these things, or, discontinying them ?? Bob S.

Uhm, YaST is not bad in finding packages, you know. If kcron is part of the KDE shipped with 9.1, YaST can find it. You only need YaST to tell where and how to search... YaST and apt don't bite eachother. You can use them alternately. ...

Are you sure that Kcron is not there? I didn't ask for Kcron to be installed but if I enter the command "kcron" at a shell prompt, Kcron starts up. Have you tried that simple experiment? Don Henson
Bob, After upgrading KDE to 3.2.1, my menus have changed. The old suse menu is nested among the new menu selections. I find kcron in suse/system/configuration. However it is also in the new menu under "system". Are you sure you have it installed. Kpackage is in the same place as kcron in both cases. Good luck. .....<snip all of that great advice>...........From all of you......... Oh boy, am I embarrassed !!! Simple thing. Didn't have kdeadmin3 installed. How does that happen?? Who knows ? Somewhere along my KDE upgrades it got left out. Not an excuse, just as embarrassed. Anyway, all is well again. Thanks again, you all are a great group to put someone on the right track. It is well appreciated by myself and probably many many others. Bob S. PS That also gave me back kpackage! Hmmmm... wonder how many other things are in kdeadmin3 that I have been missing and didn't know it.

Bob S. I'm using vcron, which seems to be a relative of kdron. -- ...CH SuSE 9 Works Linux user# 313696 Linux box# 199365
