Juan, Look under Graphics in your menu for Ksnapshot. There are others as well both gui and shell driven, but Ksnapshot is simple and quick. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.1 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

He'll be looking for quite some time -- even though I have ksnapshot installed, it doesn't appear in SuSE's menu (8.2, clean install) This is a minor gripe I have about SuSE & KDE: the menu isn't consistent or complete. In another response, someone mentioned the printscreen-key is mapped to ksnapshot -- I just pressed it and "nothing happened" [perhaps there needs to be a ksnapshot menu entry with "printscrn" as the keyboard shortcut?] Other programs that take screen pics: pixie plus -- not obvious, but you have to go to the MENU to find "take screen shot" -- there is no "toolbar icon" for this the Gimp -- ditto on "hard to find" -- normally in the gimp right-clicking pulls up mini-menus, but again, "screen capture" isn't on the mini-menu; instead you have to go to the "real" main menu and select "file / acquire / screenshot" - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+uAquV/YHUqq2SwsRAmcqAJ9e8cQIwxnz1twkwcWe/z80LMfbxwCcCl+c 8wSJq1gKENE1AL4wpfxQ1GY= =s0Le -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Hi
I know this may be a newbie question, but I cant figure it out.
How do I take screenshots from SuSE installation and from KDE Desktop (windows, menus, etc) ?
for SuSE installlation just hit the [printscreen] key and from KDE Ksnapshot -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
THANKS!
I found ksnapshot and it works (SuSE 8.1)
(and by the way, even with Ksnapshot running, hitting [printscreen] is
useless)
I didnt get the part about Screenshots from installation.
If I hit [printscreen] during any stage of installation, where are those
shots saved?
