[opensuse] Nepomuk database location
Where does Nepomuk/Strigi keep its database? I want to exclude it from my backup. On that note, are you excluding your browser cache(s)? Cutting them means a lot less time and space spent on pointless backups. Pref browser.cache.disk.parent_directory can put Gecko's $LOCATION where backup resources won't be wasted. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." I'm not sure I understand that last sentence. :( However, I am excluding ~/.mozilla from my backups, so I guess that's covered. I use rsnapshot running as a cronjob. Not a good idea. There is a lot of configuration data there $ ls ~/.mozilla/ extensions firefox plugins $ ls ~/.mozilla/firefox/ Crash Reports pluginreg.dat profiles.ini z8710kb6.Default User And under the "Default User" there is all the config ... While I agree abut not backing up caches, and there are a lot of them around, caches for fonts and more, not backing up connfig info is Bad Idea -- "What ever you're doing, it's a bad idea." http://www.dailywav.com/0110/itsaBadIdea.wav -- Ray Romano (Manny) from Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Point taken. So I should exclude ~/.mozilla/firefox/w9xordou.default/Cache Bob -- Bob Williams System: Linux 3.4.6-2.10-desktop Distro: openSUSE 12.2 (x86_64) with KDE Development Platform: 4.8.5 (4.8.5) "release 2" Uptime: 06:00am up 1 day 11:53, 3 users, load average: 0.14, 0.26, 0.24 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Why not run $ find ~ -name '[Cc]ache' -print -- If a little knowledge is dangerous, where is the man who has so much as to be out of danger. Thomas H. Huxley -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Or as I already suggested, configure to not write any temp files anywhere in $HOME in the first place, or at least not anywhere in in $HOME that contains files that should get backed up. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
