BTW, CC'ing people when replying to the list either shows that your MUA is lacking valuable features or that someone should learn what list replies are.
No. Entirely NO, dear Philipp! I am on (counted) 18 OTHER mailinglists and this kind of problems concentrates on the mostly german Suse lists.
It's not our fault if most mailing lists are poorly run.
I read many lists in DIGEST mode, which serves me an overview. And I LOVE to receive an extra CC message if it was personal or alike. This way I can plainly see it.
Great, then set your mail-followup-to header accordingly.
So this has nothing to do with "learning". Please leave out that arrogant tone out of your mails, big instructor. DOT !
But it has everything to do with learning. Likewise, crossposting between four lists (two of which only allow posts from subscribers) like you did earlier shows that you have quite a bit to learn.
Example: At work, I got a leased PC, which has NT on and all admin rights disabled by default, so I cannot even change that damn Outsuck settings, so why would I be rude? I cannot even change it, nor install a different software.
So we should all be subjected to the results of your organization's fascist policies? Great.
Hey Christopher! Take a break and laugh, do you still remember what you wrote last year? HAHA:
Yes, I was joking b/c some many people seemed terrified of the German Etikette list that I was just having fun with them...imagine the ml-admin wearing jack-boots and carrying a riding crop :)
Indeed. In the meantime I've been forced to declare martial law on SLE and suse-security because of MS Lookout users destroying our archives with their broken headers and off-topic posters who, as best as I can tell, are actually perl scripts that grab any headline from linuxtoday or slashdot and send it to the list for discussion. I actually have to block certain mails in order to get OT threads to stop (just like I'm going to do with this one) because no one listens anymore when I say "please stop this thread". Can you imagine how that makes a kind, sensitive person like myself feel? OK, in anticipation of all of the people who send are going to send me nasty mail calling me all sorts of horrible names and accusing me of professing the One True Etiquette® I offer thes following classic text on the topic: http://www.templetons.com/brad/emily.html Now, can we please get back to good old fashioned technical discussions? -- -ckm
