It must be so simple, but I got lost. Just install Apache2 out the box (prefork) and make it running with rcapache start Did lookup with explore on the ip adress 192.168.1.5 and got a 403 error. Place some docs in the /srv/www/htdoc dir with an index.html and still got 403 error. (no permission) What need to be changed? Peter

Did you install it with yast? There are lots of files that need to go into /etc/apache2. Also, what user did you start apache as? -- Jim Sabatke Hire Me!! - See my resume at http://my.execpc.com/~jsabatke Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup. NOTE: Please do not email me any attachments with Microsoft extensions. They are deleted on my ISP's server before I ever see them, and no bounce message is sent.
Make sure that the index.html is chmod to 755.
