I have a system running SuSE Pro 9.2 that has two users each with a different dialup internet provider, but using the same modem. When logging into one user from the other one they always have to right-click on the kinternet icon and select their provider. This is because kinternet defaults to whichever user last selected their provider. In the kinternetrc config file under [Startup] their is only the one entry: "interface=modem0", no mention of provider. Has anybody got a solution for this problem? Geoff

Sure, use something other then kinternet... like pppd which is the basis of all dial-up connections. There may be other methods but that is the method I would use. Then place a command in their .bashrc file to start up the pppd connection. You will have total control then of the connection, by user.

I've used kppp and that's ok for me, thanks Bruce.

I might try that later. Geoff
