OT: Is that really the first boot screen?
Hello, is this screenshot http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/slideshow.php?release=464&slide=1 for real? What, are we back in 1996? Best regards, Carlos.

Looks a great deal better than that horrid green in 9.3 :)

If those pictures are accurate, it certainly looks much better than 9.3.

That winter scene popped up in my SUSE radar a while back.. I forget where I saw it though. If I remember correctly, it's an "easter egg" of sorts. Only shows under certain conditions. I'll poke around and see if I can find the source (it might have been one of the many mailing lists I'm on). C.

Maybe triggered by the CPU temp monitor(s)? ;-)

Ah well, there's that subjectivity thing going on. The way I see it is that there are a million ways to be fun and not being childlish or amateurish (of course, you'd need first to rpm -Uvh creativity-1.12-noarch.rpm.) I'm notbashing SuSE or anything, I just expected something... different. Even boring and more "enterprisy." Anyway, it was just an OT, and it's very nice to feel how people react. Best regards, Carlos.

I'd like to know where that easter egg resides. The KDE background isn't that pancreatic green, thank goodness. Kurt -- Academic politics is the most vicious and bitter form of politics, because the stakes are so low. -- Wallace Sayre

Ahh, the familiar new desktop, yes indeed. At least one splash screen on the installation medium is a start -- and at least you have the option of changing your desktop :)

Cute isn't it. The RC-1 boot screen is different from this one.

Well, no. RC1 first-time boot screen is also the same. This screenshot is only for the first-time boot screen and not every time.
