Does anybody know how to install SuSE on a Mylex AcceleRAID 400? It's the only drive controller in the system. The system doesn't recognize the drive arrays or controller at all, setup say there are no hard disks in the system. Anders.

You don't say what you've tried already, so: have you tried using aspi=oldboot as a boot option?

Nope, haven't tried. But when I grep the kernel Documentation directory for 'aspi' or 'oldboot', nothing is found. Are you sure it's a valid kernel command? Anders.

Oops, no, it's a typo. It should be
acpi=oldboot
I doubt it'll help, I just tried to locate the cards driver on a running 9.3 system, no go. The one delivered with the card is named idac320, there's nothing remotely like it on a installed 9.3 system. I guess it's 'roll-your-own' driver that's needed. Darn.. :( I wonder if I can run a 32bit compiled driver on a 64bit installation.. It'll show, I guess. Otherwise I'll sell the controller and get another.. There are shitloads of other Ultra320 PCI-X RAID cards out there.. Anders.

The closest I've found to a driver is a kernel source tree patch from IBM, designed for kernel 2.4.18, obviously that won't even compile without load of manual patching.. So, it seems like I have an AcceleRAID for sale, if nothing comes up.. Anders.
