SuSE 9.1 and Samba w LDAP support.
I'm trying to figure this out. I have my ldap server setup on another system and I'm trying to get samba to look to ldap for authentication. Does SuSE 9.1 samba installation, by default, support LDAP? I'm guessing no.. here's what my smb.log says on restart: [2004/07/06 19:11:17, 0] smbd/server.c:main(748) smbd version 3.0.2a-SUSE started. Copyright Andrew Tridgell and the Samba Team 1992-2004 [2004/07/06 19:11:17, 0] param/loadparm.c:map_parameter(2421) Unknown parameter encountered: "ldap server" [2004/07/06 19:11:17, 0] param/loadparm.c:lp_do_parameter(3059) Ignoring unknown parameter "ldap server" So whats my next step here? Do I have to uninstall samba and download the source and compile it for samba/ldap support ? If so how can I find out what switches SuSE uses when it compiles Samba ? Thanks in advance for any help. Matt..
