[opensuse] Re: ntp client not syncing with the server
Hi, I have configure ntp client using yast and even restarted the ntp client daemon. How come the my time is still not syncing the following morning with the time server? How can i configure my client to update every 2 hours without using cron? Thanks and please shed me the light. BTW i'm using SLES10. No way to tell - network unreachable, using an invalid ntp server, firewall rules preventing the connection... Is ntpd running? What is the output of "ntpq -pn"?

Why do you want to run ntpdate every 2 hours? Why not just run ntpd, and be done with it? If you want a discrete update every 2 hours, you'll have to use cron, but I don't see any reason to do it that way.
Thanks and please shed me the light.

Maybe his connection is not always available? Still ntpd is the way to go.

And one has to ask the associated question of why he would want to AVOID cron if he (for some reason) only wanted updates every two hours. -- ----------JSA--------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
