how divide an AVI or MPG movie in two parts
I have some AVI and MPEG movies bigger than 1GB and I want to split them in two parts. Some ideas? thanks for any help, a.

I do this all the time. With MPlayer comes mencoder. mencoder input.avi -oac copy -ovc copy -endpos 00:30:00 -o outfile.avi will send the first 30 minutes to outfile.avi mencoder input.avi -oac copy -ovc copy -ss 00:30:00 -o outfile2.avi will send everything from 00:30:00 onwards to outfile2.avi -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za

Doesn't come with SuSE 8.0, does with later versions, but it's broken. You can download rpms (and their deps) from http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=128 or just grab the source from www.mplayerhq.hu and do ./configure make make install
