Just wondering ifanyone is using the advantage database server on suse box. I have suse 8.0 running, have perl installed an seem to have the advantage dameon running. then create a sharefor the data directory for samba. then installed the client on a windows machine an run the config utility to point to the data dir on the server. it says it can not find the server. Our new timeclock software requires this database engine an since I'm converting our server over to a linux box i need the linux version running. I have been on phone with the time clock software Senior Escalation Technician for almost 2 hours today an am waitng on him to call me back after he had talked to advantage about this problem. It seems i am the 1st person to run the linux version of the software from what I have learned so far. jack malone Horizon Industries
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 . If it is actually running, it will be listening on some port ot other. Find out what port and open it on the firewall. Check docs, or worst-case, run nmapfe on 127.0.0.1 . And isn't this app just SQL? Can't you use Postgres? On Tuesday 04 June 2002 18:58, jack malone wrote:
