"-qip" gives me information about the package and "-qpl/-qlp" gives me a lot of information about where files are stored so thanks for that. Any KDE/Gnome/other menu links are created when SuSEconfig runs after you install the package. If you want to know how/where, you may want to look at /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susewm.
