You're running DHCP, right? You could try setting DHCLIENT_DEBUG="yes" in /etc/sysconfig/network/dhcp and see if that generates some more enlightening error messages in /var/log/messages
Did that and nothing particularly enlightening showed up there on a reboot.
You should get a number of messages starting with "DHCP" like "DHCPREQUEST" "DHCPACK" and so forth in /var/log/messages
Nope. And I don't see the message about starting dhcp at all. I see a message from this morning, before I had the router working properly that says
Jul 16 10:38:14 linux checkpc[1845]: Get_local_host: hostname 'dhcppc1' bad Jul 16 10:38:55 linux lpd[1847]: Get_local_host: hostname 'dhcppc1' bad
But there's nothing for the last few hours about that or dhcp at all.
Progress?
Is dhclient starting at all during bootup? Try starting dhcp manually with "rcdhclient start".
Did that , got told that the syntax had been changed to ifup-dhcp Did that and got told to use it like: if{up,down,status}-dhcp <config> [<interface>] [<-o (options>] did ifup-dhcp eth0 and got told interface eth0 is not available. This is fun.

Ain't it though :) Try starting dhcpcd manually then dhcpcd -D -N -Y -d -t 999999 -h hostname eth0 These are the options used by SuSE's default script, except for "-d" which gives you debug output in /var/log/messages //Anders
