[KDE] KDE 2.1.1 freezes with ypbind running
I am running 7.1 with KDE 2.1.1 upgrade from SuSE site. I have tried to get the NIS client running (successfully), but now when the KDE desktop starts, it freezes in the phase when the splash screen says "Loading toolbar". I would appreciate any hint where to look for error messages or to solve this. I have no experience with the NIS setup at all. Jakub
I use a separate email address for handling mailing lists (the one this message is coming from) and in KMail I setup an Identity for it, however I can't post any messages to this list with it because KMail insists on re-writing the email with the "Return-Path" as my default email address -- and then the listserver rejects it saying I'm not subscribed. Is there anyway to get KMail to do the "Right Thing"?
Garen I have the same problem. I have a seperate
yahoo email address to handle lists like this one and
everytime I need to post a message, I have to login to
yahoo mail rather than simply send it through kmail.
Sorry, just replying with some sympathy rather than a
fix. Hopefully someone's got a fix out there.

I have a similar situation. I use Pine, and I find that some, but not all, of my posts bounce back to me with an error telling me that the sender: must be subscribed. I, too have multiple mail accounts, and pine inserts my login@hostname as sender, yet the From: header gives the actual subscribed address. I realize this is spam and spoofing protection, but it's inconvenient! -- Rick Green On Fri, 6 Apr 2001, Jerry Kreps wrote:

Four and counting, I expect. I made my list account the default to get around the problem, but will probably be bounced by somebody else when I use my non-list identity. Rudder
A Google serch reveals that the Return-Path problem is acknowledged bug #18846. The developer's response is "fixed in CVS." There seems to be some questions being raised about that. Perhaps someone with more Linux experience than I could dig into this a little and post a follow-up. Regards Rudder
