Installation on PC with less than 64MB of RAM.
Hello, I am trying to install Suse Linux 8.1 on an old computer that has less than 64MB of memory. FTP installation fails when it tries to activate swap space. I burned a CD with a subset of the installation directories, and I encountered some problems. So, my question is, what should I put on my installation CD so that the installation completes without error (and continue the installation of additional packages trough FTP once the system is booted). Another related question would be : Is there a reference for the installation directory structure? (i.e. what is in noarch, nosrc, src, i586, i686, etc...?) And also: Is there a way to obtain a list of RPM packages with description in each directory? Thanks! Regards, Frederic Laruelle.

What problems? SFAIK, you cannot easily create an installation disk from the ftp repository. Dylan -- "Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars" Billy Bragg
